Astor Place

Commercial projects normally dictate strict timelines, and require quick estimates of equipment locations, service upgrades, and major distribution pathways. For Astor Place, our construction partners required immediate dialogue to make alterations due to owner changes or field conditions. This project required multi-trade integration within interior office ceilings to maximize perimeter ceiling heights, natural light transfer and eliminate dropped soffits at the glass.

The critical path began with determining options for heat rejection and ventilation, dictating where mechanical equipment would be housed as well as related impacts of acoustics, structure, space allocation and maintenance. We next determined connectivity points and capacities for other base systems such as fire alarms, electrical, sprinkler and plumbing systems.
